UPC Holds Sino-Russian ASRTU Symposium

Recently, UPC and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (hereinafter referred to as “Gubkin University”) held an online symposium on carbon emission reduction and environmental protection of the chemical industry, attracting more than 300 teachers and students from 20 Chinese and Russian universities in Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) to attend. Dai Caili, Vice President of UPC, Zeng Jingbin, Vice President of College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of UPC, along with Koshelev and Maksimenko, Vice Presidents of Gubkin University attended the symposium and delivered speeches.

The symposium received nearly 70 papers submitted by Chinese and Russian teachers and students. The representatives including 38 scholars and students from 11 universities, such as Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Gubkin University, Kazan National Research Technical University, Ural Federal University, MIREA-Russian Technological University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shandong University, China University of Petroleum (East China), and Shenyang University of Technology were invited to attend the symposium. Presentations are made on research fields such as digitization of chemical processes, new materials and technologies in oil and gas energy and chemical industry, environmental and legal issues in chemical and petrochemical industry, and automation in chemical and petrochemical industry. Professor Wu Wenting, Associate Professor Jiang Lei, Qin Zhengxing and Bai Peng from College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of UPC gave special reports respectively, which received positive responses.

As one of the annual series activities held by UPC and Gubkin University as the rotating chairmanship units of Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities from 2023 to 2025, the symposium is an academic exchange platform built to meet the needs of education, research and innovation in Chinese and Russian technical universities, and it is committed to deepening the educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia in green, low-carbon and sustainable development.
