On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the university, China University of Petroleum (East China) welcomed the new students of 2023. From September 2 to 3, 8995 new students from all over the world came to the university for registration. By 12 o 'clock on September 3, 8,105 students had registered.

On September 3, university leaders went to the welcoming point of Tangdao Bay Campus, checking and guiding the registration work. Wang Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee，talked with the new students and their parents and hoped that, the young students would live up to the times and strive for their dreams. He also encouraged volunteers to work harder and provide better service for students and parents.
