Recently, the Center for Student Services and Development, Ministry of Education, P.R. China announced the results of the fifth College Students’ Employment and Entrepreneurship Deeds themed “Shining Days - What Youth Should Be”. Ma Bo, a 2017 doctoral student majoring in oil and gas well engineering in School of Petroleum Engineering of UPC, was selected as the advanced model of college students’ entrepreneurship. Guo Fugui, a 2017 undergraduate majoring in petroleum engineering, was selected as the advanced model of “grassroots employment college students”.
Ma Bo, shortlisted in Forbes’ Top 30 Under 30 in China’s education sector, won the gold award in the 7thChina College Students’ “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the silver award inChina College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition. In 2017, Ma Bo and its team established Creative Solar Energy Services (Qingdao) Co., Ltd., to build a China-Africa vocational education and training and people-to-people exchange service platform, which has attracted great attention from Chinese and African governments.
Guo Fugui, currently working in the Third Oil Production Plant of Tahe Oilfield, Northwest Oilfield Company of Sinopec, was awarded the “Self-improvement Star of Chinese College Students” in 2021. He actively engaged in scientific and technological innovation practice, voluntarily served for education construction in his hometown, launched the construction of rural library in November 2021. After graduation, he chose to work in Gobi Desert of Xinjiang. engaged in the oil industry in the western region, and was determined to serve for the energy industry of our country and to be a “youthwith willpower in the new era”.
