UPC was Approved Four New CSC-sponsored 

“Project-based” Overseas Scholarship Programs

Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) announced the approval results for the 2025 Program for Promoting International Cooperation with Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus and Area Studies Talent Support Initiative. All four projects newly proposed have received full funding approval, injecting fresh impetus into UPC’s drive to cultivate globally competent professionals.

Two cross-border collaboration initiatives led by the Schoolof Economics and Management and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering have been awarded funding under the Program for Promoting International Cooperation with Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.

·China-Russia Joint International Cooperation Program for Economic Management Talent in Energy Digitization and Intelligence (led by Prof. Jian Ling from the School of Economics and Management)

·China-Russia Joint International Cooperation Program for Petroleum and Petrochemical Talent (led by Prof. Zeng Jingbin from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering)

Concurrently, two projects from the School of Foreign Studies received funding support through Area Studies Talent Support Initiative:

·Northeast Asia High-Quality Talent Cooperation Program (led by Prof. Mao Haoran from the School of Foreign Studies)

·RCEP Economic-Trade-Cultural Research Talent Cultivation Program (led by Prof. Guo Yueqin from the School of Foreign Studies)

The approved program will be implemented over a three-year period. During this period, UPC can send a total of 31person-times per year across various categories, including undergraduate transfer students, master’s candidates, joint training postgraduates and Ph.D. Students, visiting scholars and senior research scholars, to 10 institutions worldwide. These include prestigious universities such as Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia), Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Japan), University of Queensland (Australia), and University of Canterbury (New Zealand).

In the program, CSC will provide financial support covering round-trip international travel expenses and scholarship for the entire duration of each recipient’sresearch period.
