Recently, Huang Fang, director of the Office of International Affairs of UPC, led a delegation to three important countries of the Belt and Road, including Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, and paid visit to 7 top universitiesand institutes in the countries, held talks and exchanged ideas on students and teachers exchanges, international conferences, scientific research cooperation and other aspects, and promoted international cooperation of our university. At the same time, they participated in China Education Exhibition in Indonesia and visited a number of high schools to expand enrollment channels and high-quality student bases.
Huang Fang and his delegation visited seven universities and institutes: University of Malaya, UCSI University, and Universiti Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Bandung Institute of Technology and Indonesia University of Petroleum in Indonesia, as well as University of Colombo and University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka. They held talks and exchanged ideas with the presidents, the international offices and the relevant colleges of the universities, and visited their laboratories.

Huang Fang introduced the history, educational features, discipline development, talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and high-end platform construction of UPC to enhance their understanding of our university. We have carried out extensive exchanges with the above universities on student exchanges, studyingin China, visits of teachers, international academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation and other aspects, and reached a positive consensus. We also have identified the key areas of future cooperation, determined to expand the inter-university scientific research and talent cultivation cooperation relying on the preponderant disciplines of each university.

This is the first time for UPC to visit the above universities, which is a practical measure to actively implement the Belt and Road Initiative, promote internationalization of the university, and expand the partner network of top universities in Southeast Asia.
