Wonderful Study Experiences of Central Asian Students in UPC Were Reported by CCTV

Recently, CCTV News and Morning News successively reported the international students work in UPC, focusing on the wonderful study experience of Central Asian students, and showing the active efforts of China and Central Asian countries, increating a new chapter of cultural exchange.

CCTV News reported on the footage of Central Asian students in our university conducting research work under the guidance of Professor Yang Yongfei, the Vice Dean of the School of Petroleum Engineering.

CCTV Morning News, under the segment “Colorful Central Asia, New Chapter on Silk Road”, focused on the study and life of UPC Central Asian students with the theme “Studying in China, Building the Future Together”. The report pointed out that with the deepening exchanges and interactions between China and Central Asian countries, an increasing number of young people from the five Central Asian countries choose to study in China.

China University of Petroleum (East China), located in the Qingdao West Coast New Area, has a total of 555 international students from 59 countries, including 75 students from the five Central Asian countries. They come to China for their studies with a love and longing for Chinese culture and a positive outlook on China’s future development.

The report featured Central Asian students sharing their study and life experiences in UPC. Traditional Chinese cultural activities such as calligraphy, paper cutting, and embroidery provided by our university were highly appreciated by the students, enabling them to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture through hands-on experiences. The students expressed that the specialized knowledge they acquired in China would serve as an advantage for their future employment. They expressed their anticipation for increased cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in the future, aspiring to become “new envoys” that continue the millennium-long friendship along the Silk Road.
