Delegations from Tyumen State Oil and Gas University and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas Visited UPC

On December 1st, delegations from Tyumen State Oil and Gas University and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas paid visits to UPC. Vice presidents Wang Ruihe and Zha Ming welcomed separately the guests and held talks with them.

UPC has conducted cooperation with Tyumen State Oil and Gas University since 2008. Up to present, 190 students from UPC have been sent to the university. During the visit, the two parties have reached agreement on more fields for cooperation, such as research, faculty exchange and online learning.

Through the past two decades, UPC and Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas has established a solid and friendly partnership. The two universities will further collaboration in summer school programs for language and culture communication, employment of Russian teacher, construction of China-Russia joint laboratories and doctoral internship. 

Tyumen State Oil and Gas University is the largest university in the Tyumen region of Russia. It has 7 schools, including construction, social sciences, engineering, and the Institute of Management and Business. It was established in 1956. Today about 40 thousand students study here in 70 departments. During the 50 years of its existence the university has awarded diplomas to almost 75 thousand graduates.

Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, located in Moscow, the first university to have started oil and gas staff training in Russia is still the main talent foundry for the oil and gas industry. The university was founded on 17 April 1930 and named after the geologist Ivan Gubkin. The university is known as Kerosinka (Russian: Керосинка), meaning "kerosene stove". It has 9 faculties, including petroleum geology and geophysics, petroleum engineering, pipeline engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, information technology, economics and management, international energy business and law (petroleum law).
