Spring Festival (Chun Jie in Chinese), the first day of the lunar January, is regarded as the most important traditional festival in China. It is celebrated for the coming of the Lunar New Year. During the festival, people will have the holiday and get together with family members. It's a time for reunion. According to the Chinese zodiac, 2015 is the year of the Goat. In Chinese tradition, the goat is the representative of softness, peace and happiness.
During the festival, people will celebrate it in different ways. On the Spring Festival Eve (Nian San Shi in Chinese, the last day of the Lunar December), families will sit together to have a splendid dinner and watching Chunwan, the Spring Festvial gala for the whole country. In the following several days, relatives and friends will exchange wishes and give the best blessing to each other.
For Chinese people, Chun Jie is more than a festival. It is the time to show love for the people around you and the symbol of the beginning of a new life, the hope and the future.
