On the local time May 20, the 34th Pan-Baltic University Student Games ended in Tartu. The men's volleyball team from China University of Petroleum finally won the third place.
The men's volleyball match took place on the 18th, attracting 10 teams from different countries including China, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Slovakia.
In the group match, the team of UPC matched against teams from University of Tartu, Riga Technical University and Klaipeda University and finally got into the top four. In the semi-final stage, the team met a strong rival from Tallinn University of Technology and eventually was defeated by 14:16. In the last competition against the team from Latvian University of Life Science and Technology, all members tried with all their strength and grabbed a bronze medal in the end.
The Pan-Baltic University Student Games was founded in 1923 and hosted by the four countries of Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia by turns. This year, more than 1,300 students from nine countries and regions including China, Britain, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Slovakia, and Estonia attended the games including basketball, swimming, table tennis, and volleyball.
