On May 22, Prof. Anne Neville from University of Leeds paid visit to the university. Yao Jun, the vice president, welcomed the guests and held discussion with them about cooperation.
Yao expressed thanks and appreciation for the cooperation between the two universities. He introduced the work done on first-rate discipline construction, the development plan on new-energy science and new and ld kinetic energy conversion of shandong province. He hoped that more joint work can be conducted on the fields of material science and mechanical engineering. Research cooperation and doctoral eduction should be deepened between the two sides. Prof. Anne Neville gave a high praise for the planning on discipline construction and new and old kinetic energy conversion. She hoped the cooperation should be widened and deepened. During the visit, she held discussions with leaders and teachers and a set of agreements have been reached: the two sides will offically launch the education program for doctoral students; five doctoral students on corrosion, material, heat transmission and nanotechnology will be sent to University of Leeds for tuition-free study; short-term programs for postgraduate student will be carried out.
Prof. Anne Neville now works on School of Mechanical Engineering in University of Leeds. She mainly focuses her research work on corrosion and tribo-corrosion, lubrication and wear, mineral scaling and surgical technologies. In 2017, she was invited to be the honorary professor of China University of Petroleum.
