Chinese National Committee for International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (CNC-IUGG) is committed to geoscience research, aiming to promote and coordinate the environmental study of the earth and its interstellar space; to promote domestic and international cooperation in Geodesy, Geophysics and related Geosciences, serving the needs of social development with the knowledge obtained from the research, such as the exploration of earth resources and the reduction of natural disasters, as well as the improvement and protection of the earth’s environment and socioeconomic sustainable development.
In order to strengthen the understanding of Geodesy and Geophysics, summarize the latest progress and achievements in theory, technology and application in time, and promote technical exchanges, the Fourth Congress of China Geodesy and Geophysics (hereinafter 4th CCGG) is scheduled to be held in China University of Petroleum (East China) from Nov. 14 to Nov. 15, 2020, which is hosted by CNC-IUGG and Geoscientific Division of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
1. Objectives of 4th CCGG
4th CCGG aims to develop into an influential international symposium on earth system sciences, promoting the development of CNC-IUGG. Focusing on interdisciplinary development, it is conducive to China’s leap from a “major country in Geosciences” to a “leading country in Geosciences”. Meanwhile, it also provides a platform for Chinese geoscientists to communicate, exchange and cooperate with top international researchers in related fields.
2. Theme of 4th CCGG and Its Scope of Soliciting Contribution
Theme: Maritime Silk Road and Earth System Sciences
Form: It adopts the form of conference, joint branch, association branch and other forms, including specially invited lecture, communication on special topics in branches, new technology release, new product exhibition, etc. 4th CCGG will invite well-known academicians, experts, industry leaders and elites at home and abroad to give lectures and set up Distinguished Student Paper Award.
Scope of Soliciting Contribution: Papers about Cryospheric Sciences, Geodesy, Geomagnetism and Aeronomy, Hydrological Sciences, Meteorology and Atmospheric Science, Physical Sciences of the Oceans, Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior, Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior, and the above-mentioned interdisciplinary sciences.
3. Organizers of 4th CCGG
Host: CNC-IUGG for China Association for Science and Technology
Organizer: China University of Petroleum (East China)
Co-organizers: CNSS and LBS Association of China; Chinese Academic Surveying and Mapping
