  Introduction:

  Minna Hakkarainen is a tenured professor of School of Chemical Science and Engineering, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. Her research interests are recycling of polymers and biomass to value added products, including green chemicals, carbon nanospheres and graphene oxide, and further utilization of these products to design new functional materials, development, characterization and testing of degradable polymers, renewable materials, nano/biocomposites, biomedical materials and environmentally friendly plasticizers, degradation, environmental interaction and impact of polymeric materials. he has published more than 120 papers on ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, J Am Chem. Soc., Macromolecules Biomacromolecules,ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng. and a book titled Update on Polylactide Based Mateirals
