Recently, the central division competition of the 21th RoboMaster University Series (RMU) had finished in Xiamen. The Natergy RPS Team from UPC beat the team from South China University of Technology who was the past champion and took the crown in central division with a clean sweep, which was the first time for UPC to win the division championship.

Founded in 2016, the Natergy RPS Team is directed by Professor Liu Fuyu in College of Control Science and Engineering of UPC, and is managed and operated by students independently. The team is divided into 6 departments including operator group, operation group, electronic control group, mechanical group, vision group and competition camp, which have a clear division and are coordinated advance. The core members of the team are from 20 majors in College of Control Science and Engineering, School of Material Science and Engineering, Qingdao Institute of Software, College of Computer Science and Technology, School of Economics and Management, College of New Energy, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, etc., which fully showedthe interdisciplinary integration.

RMU fully integrates many robot-related technology disciplines such as “mechanical design and manufacturing”, “machine vision”, “embedded system design”, “mechanical control”, and “human-computer interaction”. Students are required to use self-designed robots with corresponding rules to win the competition by destroying enemy bases in the mode of red and blue in 7 minutes.
