UPC Strengthened Partnerships with Russian Universities

Recently, a delegation led by president Shan Honghong took visits to Russian universities, including National Mineral Resources University(University of Mines), Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas and Moscow State Institution of Tchaikovsky Conservatory. During the visits, a series of new agreements has been reached which will advance collaboration between UPC and those universities.

UPC Signed a MOU with National Mineral Resources University

President Shan Honghong and Vladimir Litvinenko, rector of National Mineral Resources University signed cooperation agreements between the universities. In accordance with the agreement, the parties intend to carry out common research and development projects, exchange programs, academic trips for faculty in the future.The two sides also planned to establish a center for oil and gas technology research. Vladimir Litvinenkoalso invited UPC’s experts to participate in the international forum on oil resources strategy and exploration technology organized by National Mineral Resources University in 2015. President Shan Honghong and the delegation also visited the university museums, petroleum engineering laboratories, and held talks with related staff on the affairs of doctoral joint training, summer school programs.

The Delegation Visited Labs of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas

Alexander Maksimenko, the vice principal of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, hosted a meeting with the delegation. The two sides discussed a plan of strengthening cooperation and reached concrete agreements, such as students and faculty exchanges, joint training for undergraduates and graduates. These agreements will be carried out step by step in the near future.

The Delegation Visited Students’ Music Rooms of Moscow State Institution of Tchaikovsky Conservatory 

In Moscow State Institution of Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the vice president Vladimir Sukhanov held a conference with president Shan Honghong. The both sides expressed their willingness to cooperate and exchanged their ideas in teachers training, students exchange. What’s more, Shan Honghong was invited to attend the 150th anniversary of the institution. After the meeting, Shan Honghong and the delegation visited the Tchaikovsky Conservatory Music Hall, one of four most famous music halls in the world and students’ music rooms.

Besides, the delegation also visited Education Departments of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow and the Chinese Council in St. Petersburg. President Shan Honghong met several teachers and students of UPC who are studying in Russia, gave her wishes to them and encouraged them to make more contributions to the communication between UPC and Russian universities.
