1. The Statute of China University of Petroleum (East China) was approved by Ministry of Education。
The Statute of a university is the governing principle of a university. The Statute of China University of Petroleum (East China) gives the offical introduction of all aspects of the university, including the management system, the running concepts and the teaching functions. It will provide the basic theories for the development of the university in the future.
2. Prof. Dai Caili was awarded as Distinguished Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Program and selected into the national New Century Talents Project.
Dai Caili, the professor and PhD supervisor in School of Petroleum Engineering of UPC, has been awarded as 'the young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions' by the Ministry of Education recently and selected into the national New Century Talents Project. Over the years, she has concentrated her research on enhanced oil recovery and oil production chemistry. She has been engaged in researches such as chemical flooding, profile control and water shutoff, deep profile control and oil displacement technique, CBM extraction with increased production.
3. UPC became the professional degree reformation test university by Ministry of Education.
The professional degree has been conducted and reformed in Chinese universities in recent years. UPC has became one of the twelve test universities which will carry on the reformation of professional degrees. The period lasts from Oct. 2015 to Spet. 2020. It will enhance the professional degree education of the university.
4. Ministry of Education conducted undergraduate teaching quality assessment of the university.
From Oct. 19 to 22, 2015, a panel of experts from Ministry of Education examined and assessed undergraduate teaching quality of UPC. The panel made a comprehensive investigation by attending classes, deep interview, checking teaching materials. After finishing the examination, the panel highly appraised UPC’s teaching achievements through the years. Based on the results, they also gave advices and suggestions to improve the teaching quality of UPC.
5. Prof. Jiang Daqing was selected as the Elsevier High Cited Chinese Researcher.
On March 21th, 2015, according to the High Cited Chinese Researchers list released by Elsevier, a well-known publication company, Prof. Jiang Daqing, from College of Science, was listed in the field of math, with the highest citation rate of papers which were published with Jiang Daqing as the first and corresponding author. Besides, in 2014, he was also selected as the Highly Cited Researcher by Thomas Reuters.
6. The paper Review on electrical discharge plasma technology for wastewater remediationon by Doctor Candidate Jiang Bo got listed as one of 100 most influential academic papers in China.
According to the statistics of scientific papers by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, the paper Review on Electrical Discharge Plasma Technology for Wastewater Remediation, published on the Chemical Engineering Journal, was listed as one of 100 most influential academic papers in China. It was written by Jiang Bo, a doctor candidate from the National Key Laboratory of Heavy Oil, School of Chemical Engineering.
7. Confucius Institute at Metallurgy and Mines Institute of Tajikistan was established.
On August 20, 2015, the inauguration ceremony of the Confucius Institute at the Metallurgy and Mines Institute of Tajikistan was held. This Confucius Institute was co-established by the Metallurgy and Mines Institute of Tajikistan and Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), with China University of Petroleum as its partner. It was the first Confucius Institute that UPC co-launched with oversea institute.
8. The project Great Master and moral education won the fist prize of campus culture projects by Ministry of Education.
The project Great Master and moral education was to advocate the spirit of the former masters who made great contributions to the development of the university and carry forward the moral education of the modern students. It is an important part of the construction of campus culture.
9. Students took part in the innovation competitions to display their self made products.
On Oct. 23 to 25, the Second Session of Postgraduate Petroleum Equipments Design Competition was held where 226 innovative equipments designed by postgraduates from over 30 universities were displayed. Students shared their designs and exchanged ideas on petroleum equipment innovation and practice.
10. Video of Time-Lapse：Walking in the Campus-2015 made by students was well received.
The video of Time-Lapse：Walking in the Campus-2015 made by a group of students who love photography was released and well recieved around and outside the campus. It presents the charm and vitality of the university. Learn more about the video:
