On Oct. 12, prof. Anders Lindquist visited China university of petroleum. He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Yao Jun, the vice president of UPC, welcomed the guest.
Anders Lindquist was invited to be honorary professor of China University of Petroleum.
Yao Jun introduced discipline advantages and the work the university has done on international education. He hoped that more cooperation would be carried out. Prof. Lindquist spoke highly of the campus construction and appreciated its postion in petroleum and petrochemical industry of China. He also extended congratulations for its successful secletion into the national double first-rate strategy and felt confident for the future cooperation. During the visit, he gave a lecture on Partial Realization Theory and System Identification Revisited.
Prof. Anders Lindquist is a Swedishapplied mathematician and control theorist. He has made contributions to the theory of partial realization, stochastic modeling, estimation and control, and moment problems in systems and control. Lindquist is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2015), an Honorary Member of Hungarian Operations Research Society, and a Foreign Member of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. He is also a Life Fellow of the IEEE. He has published more than 200 papers on top journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control、Automatica, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization.
