Introduction:

   Nikhil Pal is a professor of Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit (ECSU) , Indian Statistical Institute. He is the fellow of Indian National Science Academy, Indian National Academy of Engineering,  and the president of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. His research interests are pattern recognition, medical and satellite image analysis, fuzzy sets theory, neural networks, evolutionary computation, bioinformatics, and brain science. He has published 270 papers and the total citation reaches 18000.
