The 2026 International Culture Festival of China University of Petroleum (East China) (UPC) kicked off on May 10. International students from more than 20 countries and regions gathered for the festival themed “Uniting the World, Embracing Youthful Splendor”. The event showcased the charm of global cultures and served as a platform for exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign youth.
The festival featured diverse activities, including artistic performances, cultural exhibitions, food tastings and international education exchanges. During the artistic performance session, Chinese and foreign students gave wonderful joint shows, fully displaying the beauty of Chinese and foreign arts and bringing the audience a cultural feast filled with exotic charms and youthful vitality. The event featured themed booths representing Russian-speaking countries, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and other countries and regions. Through traditional costumes, handicrafts and specialty delicacies, international students introduced the history, culture and local customs of their home countries to the participants. Visitors took part in interactive activities at various booths, immersing themselves in the allure of world cultures amid cheers and laughter.
2,000 teachers and students from inside and outside UPC participated in the festival. As a flagship event of UPC’s international campus development, the International Culture Festival has become an important platform for showcasing UPC’s achievements in internationalized school operation and promoting cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world. In recent years, UPC has steadily expanded the enrollment scale of international students while upgrading education quality. Chinese and foreign youth have deepened mutual understanding and achieved common progress through communication and integration, embodying the openness, confidence and inclusiveness of the youth in the new era.
