From April 18th to 20th,  The Fifth International Conference on Digital Core Analysis & The Workshop on Multiscale Numberical and Experimental Approaches for Multiphysics Problems in Porous Media was held UPC.

 Vice President Yao Jun attended the meeting and delivered an opening speech.

Prof. Jiang Shu from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) gave a report. 

 More than 150 experts and scholars from 40 domestic and foreign universities, research institutes and enterprises，attended the meeting, including Imperial College London, Edinburgh University, Manchester University, Heriot-Watt University, Aberdeen University, Novosibirsk State University, Russia, Peking University, Shandong University, Sichuan University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Ocean University of China, China University of Geosciences ( Wuhan), China University of Geosciences (Beijing), China University of Mining and Technology, China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), China University of Petroleum (Beijing), China University of Petroleum (East China), Southwest Petroleum University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, etc. 

Prof. Liu Jianfeng from Sichuan University gave a report.

In response to the new situation of global epidemic prevention and control, the conference adopted a domestic offline + foreign online method. 18 scholars with national title gave reports on the current cutting-edge technology of multi-scale numberical and experimental methods for multiphysics problems in porous media. 

Prof. Martin Blunt from Academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering, made an online report.

Since 2012, UPC has organized five international conference on digital core analysis technology, which has developed into a internationally influential Chinese version on the digital core technology meeting.  It has provided an important platform for the discipline construction, international development, and academic exchange of the university.
