Recently, Zhang Yanzhen, doctor of College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, successfully received funds from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which rewarded him as the first “Alexander von Humboldt fellow” in UPC. He will continue his research career as postdoctoral fellow under the guidance of Prof. Gunther Wittstock in University of Oldenburg.
In recent years, Zhang Yanzhen focuses his research on colloids and interface science, electrification mechanisms of droplets, micro electrochemical deposition, the fundamental machining mechanisms of EDM. He has published 16 papers as the first author in many internationally distinguished journals, such as Langmuir,International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer,Journal of Materials Processing Technology,Applied Surface Science.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is a foundation set-up by the government of the Federal Republic of Germany It promotes international academic cooperation between excellent scientists and scholars from Germany and from abroad. Every year the Foundation grants more than 700 competitive research fellowships and awards, primarily going to academics from natural sciences and humanities— it allows scientists and scholars from all over the world to come to Germany to work on a research project they have chosen themselves together with a host and collaborative partner.
