On Dec.6. the 10th Confucisus Insitute Conference was held in Shanghai. Over 2,300 guest, including university presidents and representatives of Confucius Institutes from more than 130 countries and regions attended the conference. President Shan Honghong, on behalf of UPC, was invited to participate it.

On August 20, 2015, the Confucius Institute at the Metallurgy and Mines Institute of Tajikistan was established. It was co-built by the Metallurgy and Mines Institute of Tajikistan and Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), with China University of Petroleum as its partner. It was the first Confucius Institute that UPC co-launched with oversea institute. 

In all, China has established 500 Confucius Institutes and 1,000 Confucius Classrooms in 134 countries and regions around the world with the total number of students reaching 1.9 million. Over the past years, Confucius Institutes, have served as  'a bridge of understanding' between people of China and other countries. At present, there are about 44,000 full-time and part-time teachers from China and foreign countries. As many as six million people all over the world have participated in Chinese language proficiency tests. Chinese and Chinese Culture has become more attractive to people in different countires.
