Series of Progress in Electrode Materials Researches Made by Energy Storage and Catalytic Materials Team

Recently, a series of progress in the research of electrode material of cluster catalysis and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) hasbeenmadebythe energy storage and catalytic materials team of China University of Petroleum (UPC). The research results were respectively published inNature Communications, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Journal of Materials Chemistry, andCarbon, which areinternationally renowned journals of chemistry and materials.

Electrode materials play a crucial role in energy storage and conversion, so one of the challenges in this field is how todesign electrodematerialsaccordingtoactualcircumstances.Theenergy storage and catalytic materials teamcarried out in-depth research in key issues of electrochemical energy storage and conversion, in order toprovide theoretical basis and practical reference forthedevelopmentofefficient energy chemical materials by electrode material structure design, electrochemical system optimization and mechanism analysis.

The energy storage and catalytic materials team led by Professor Xing Wei has long been engaged in the research of new energy materials. In recent years, the team has undertaken 7 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and over 20 projects such as Outstanding Youth Fund of Shandong Natural Science Foundation, Major Basic Research Projects of Shandong Natural Science Foundation, Major Advanced Reserve Project ofPetroChina, and Young Experts Support Program of Shandong Taishan Scholars. The teamhaspublished over 100 academic papers which havebeen cited over 8000 times, and has won two first prizes of Natural Science Award of Shandong Province and one second prize ofScience Research Famous Achievement Award in Higher Institution inNatural Sciencefrom the Ministry of Education.
