2021 Freshmen Opening Ceremony

      On Spet. 12, the opening ceremony for 2021 freshmen was held in the campus gymnasium. The freshmen, university leaders, faculty representatives attended the ceremony.

On behalf of the university, president HAO Fang extended heartfelt congratulations and warm welcome to all freshmem. Combining his work experience in the past four years in the university, he introduced the pround history of UPC and the outstanding achievements in recent years. Since its establishement, UPC has made historical contributions to the petroleum industry of the country. In the new era, it will bravely shoulder the mission of the times and strive for the goal of  the world's first-class university. He put forward three requirements and hopes to the freshmen. Firstly, students should stick to the spirit of serving the country. Young people are the constructor of the country in the future. Students should closely connect their individual ideals with the destiny of the nation.  Secondly, students should study hard and become professional in different fields. Students should cherish the college life and develop the abilities of learning, practicing, thinking and innovation. Thirdly, students should pursue excellence in their study and research. They should maintain an enterprising spirit, rather than indulge in games and pleasure. 

Freshmen representatives expressed their excitement for the coming college life. They wished to spend a meaningful life and fullfill their dreams in the university.
